This webinar will discuss the beneficial role of occupational therapy (OT) and social work for people living with dementia and their caregivers. Presenters will share OT interventions implemented through LiveWell’s Alzheimer’s Disease Programs Initiative project for people living alone with dementia, those with intellectual and developmental disabilities and dementia, and those with distressing behaviors. Content will include ways to help clients receive appropriate OT services. In addition, Nevada Senior Services will share community-based approaches using social workers to serve people living with dementia and their caregivers. Topics will include considerations on, recommendations for, and benefits to integrating social work practices.

  • Marissa Shoop, MPA, has a career in social services and experience in integrated services and supports in the community. At Nevada Senior Services, she works to enhance medical and social services for seniors and marginalized communities and to increase access to care.
